Evening in the Stacks, our annual gala fundraiser, supports the above-budget initiatives of Howard County Library System. It has become one of Howard County’s most anticipated, fun parties for a good cause, with approximately 400 guests attending last year.

Guests enjoyed this lavish affair as they savored an excellent dinner, refreshed at the open bar, bloomed on the dance floor, and enjoyed a bouquet of activities with the Flower-full Mart.
Dressed for the POP-arazzi in current pop culture-inspired attire, we raised funds for Battle of the Books at Merriweather Post Pavilion.
We celebrated the continent of Africa as we supported the library, from the Mediterranean coast and the Nile in the north to the cities, grasslands, and deserts in Central Africa to the rainforests of the south.
About the Event
Evening in the Stacks is the biggest party of the season, and the one time of year the library raises money to support its above-budget initiatives, such as Battle of the Books and On the Road to Kindergarten. We support a good cause while enjoying an unforgettable evening of catered cuisine, open bar, DJ, entertainment, and more.
